Info for Family and Friends
Explore the resources available to your student before, during, and after their study abroad experience. Be sure to read thoroughly the Parent/Guardian Guidebook which will be provided to students roughly 2 months prior to the start of their program.
Upon acceptance to our programs, students are provided with a link to our Post-acceptance Checklist (in thier Acceptance Letter which is found in Step 2 of your student's ISI Portal. This Checklist contains important information to help students book their flights (including the arrival day check-in window) and otherwise prepare for the program. Please ask your student to share this file with you. Additionally, you can ask them to share their predeparture guidebook with you and you're welcome to quiz them on their predeparture orientation course to help ensure that they have reviewed it carefully and understand everything: what to pack, what arrival procedures look like, the visa guidance available, how to navigate phone plans, on-site support services, traveling with allergies, the local culture and language, and much, much more. Our team offers one-on-one advising as well as predeparture Q&As and open advising sessions to help answer any remaining questions but most families find the majority of their questions answered through these initially provided materials.
